Club Captain: Eilidh Campbell

Eilidh has been a key member of the Club since 2019 with a brief sabbatical to the University of British Colombia in the 2021/22 season. Kicking off her university experience as ‘Fresher of the Year’, Eilidh’s bubbly personality and determined nature made her one to watch from the beginning. Acting as 3XI Captain in her second year, she displayed her fabulous organisation and strong leadership skills, leading the team to many victories. During the pandemic, Eilidh remained involved in the club, encouraging members to take part in the Club’s ‘Move for the Mind’ which helped players to stay active through difficult times. Recognising her outstanding involvement, Eilidh was voted in as Club Captain for the 22/23 season and has been off to a phenomenal start. Her work has not gone unnoticed, acting as a support for club members and going above and beyond to keep the club running smoothly (alongside the support of the women’s executive committee). Her genuine love for the club shows through all the hard work she does, having successfully achieved a Gold Accreditation for the club from Scottish Hockey. There is no one else we’d rather have as the face of Edinburgh University Women’s Hockey Club!

Vice Captain: Olivia Agnew

Olivia, AKA Swagnew, is known for her heart of gold, fiery red hair and fantastic chat. After spending a year in the sunshine (with plenty of SPF on) Olivia has returned ready to take on the role of Vice Club-captain. Olivia is a self-proclaimed hockey badger and is never found too far away from Peffermill. She is the perfect team mate - her positive outlook and work ethic mean she is a key member of EUWHC on and off the pitch. Her strengths include making umpiring fun, having the perfect playlist for every occasion and her dancing abilities. She is the go to girl for any umpiring or coaching related questions (unless it is to tell her you will not umpire). Olivia will be sure to give 120% to every task, and is ready to help EUWHC have their most successful year to date!

Treasurer: Olivia Saddler

Going into 4th year, Liv is a fun, kind and caring key member of the hockey club. She is always there if you need a hand and if you can’t find her you can be sure to find her boogying on the Atik dance floor, two VKs in hand. As well as being able to bust some incredible dance moves and having a good time, one of Liv’s major strengths is her very smart brain. This makes her an incredible treasurer who is extremely organised and more than up to the momentous task of crunching numbers for the whole club and making sure that everyone has what they need. She deals patiently with the hundreds of money and equipment requests and always manages to come up with a solution for every problem no matter how big or small. Without her amazing smarts we would all struggle to get anything done!

Secretary: Cleo Miller

Entering her fourth year in the club with a bang as Club Secretary, Cleo is an integral part of what keeps this club going. Whether it is organising the hundreds (yes hundreds) of players at trials or registering new players, you can always rely on her to answer her outlook quickly (when its working that is..). As a psychology student, she has an innate knowledge of human behaviour (and of the nicest way to ask us all to get on with our tasks), making her the best person to keep us all in line. Overseeing the hockey club, she makes sure everything runs smoothly. When asked why she wanted to be part of the committee for the second year in a row she replied “I like being involved”, evident in her attendance on the hockey field and on the Atik dance floor. She may be late to everything including lectures but boy is she organise and is always seen typing a hundred words per minute on her laptop. A centre back on the field and off, she’s the backbone of the club organising meetings and team sheets, making sure everyone’s accounted for, (unlike her social costume accessories). The club is in very safe hands with Cleo as our secretary this year.

National League Fixtures: Sasha Hewett

Sasha is a 4th year Italian student returning to the club after her 3rd year in sunny Sicily. She wanted to be more involved in the club and her busy national fixtures secretary role has done just that. Sasha is in charge of all BUCs fixtures and many Saturday matches too. She liaises with oppositions' captains, books the pitches (don’t dare get in touch with Peffs yourself!) and makes sure we all know where we need to be and when. She’s organised, energetic and a force to be reckoned with, on and off of the pitch. The biggest lightweight you’ll ever meet she rarely makes it to Atik but you can be sure she’ll dress to impress (the best blueberry costume this club’s ever seen). Sasha is a friendly face and a vital member of our committee - we certainly wouldn’t start matches on time without her .

East District Fixtures : Charlotte Allen

Our East District Secretary for this year is none other than Charlotte Allen. Charlotte is now entering her fourth year of EUWHC and the 6XIs. Charlotte has been an incredibly dedicated and valuable member of the 6XI winning top goal scorer in the Women’s Club during her first year beating the Men’s Club with a whopping 34 goals in the season! Charlotte’s role includes arranging all the fixtures for 4s-10s on a Saturday in east district leagues. This involves communicating with other clubs, booking pitches, organising and rearranging fixtures, sorting umpires and being on call for when things go wrong. As a fourth year English Literature student she is used to balancing deadlines so I have ever faith that Charlotte with rise to the challenge of East District Secretary. Her friendly and approachable nature means she’ll easily be able to communicate with other teams. I have no doubt that in Charlotte’s hands the East District Fixtures will run very smoothy.

Publicity Secretary: Isa Farina

Isa is a 4th year psychology student who has been in the club since her first year. Having been vice captain of the 10s last year she’s loyal to the team and the Atik dance floor, you’ll never find her home on a Wednesday night. Isa is an avid poster, when she isn’t tagging Atik in her instagram stories, she takes care of all EUWHC social media accounts, posting match schedules and results weekly. She upkeeps the club’s online presence and makes sure everyone knows what going on at Peffs. She is also our resident photographer and is never found at Peffermill without her camera. Her curious, sociable and bubbly personality means she knows everyone in the club and probably has an Atik mirror selfie with almost every one of them. Isa’s enthusiasm makes her a vital and highly valued member of the committee.

Social Secretary: Jemima Stevenson

Jemima is a 2nd year economics and finance student, full time party animal and this years EUWHC social secretary. Not shy of a feral night and a hangover that not even hulk could shake off, Jemima is the perfect person to lead us all to that delightfully sticky VK slip and slide aka the Atik dfloor. Jemima will take to the role like a duck to water when liasing with various members of the club and our trusty pub and club sponsors, being one of the friendliest and bubbliest members of the club. Armed with experience of organising her teams revenge night last year as well as being formally crowned as her teams biggest liability, you can be rest assured that this girl is full of social qualifications. Buckle up for a year you wish you could remember and Alexa play move by Little Mix.

Kit Secretary: Thea Boyce

Thea is a 2nd year International Business student who has become a loyal member of EUWHC. She is a committed member of the 5s, never missing a game or an Atik night out! Thea is often found in the gym lifting weights that put us all to shame. Despite only being in the 5s for a year, Thea is a key part of the team! She is responsible and organised, making her the perfect person to take over as kit secretary! She has no shame in chasing people for payments, making her an ideal person for the job. I’m certain that Thea will have everyone looking fabulous in their EUWHC kit!

Studying ecological and environmental sciences doesn’t stop annie from attending every social and tearing it up on the Dropkicks dancefloor. There is no doubt annie will be both a great indoor captain as well as leading the club Charitable acts!

Welfare Secretary: Lara Street

Welcoming this year’s Welfare and Inclusivity Officer, Lara Street! As a fourth-year medical student, Lara has nailed the art of balancing university work, being an active member of executive committee with being a much-loved member of the sassy 6s. Lara always offers a friendly face for any concerns within the club. She has been active in encouraging people to talk about their mental health through the People of Edinburgh initiative. This is a series of posts where members are encouraged share their experience with well-being and mental health to encourage more open conversations within the club. She is so incredibly selfless and will give her absolute all to making this EUWHC community a better and more inclusive place for everyone. We are all so excited to see what her passionate energy for change will bring! Sponsorship: Julia Hill

Julia is a third-year medical student who has a passion for all things Irish and all things hockey. A much-loved member of the 2XI, Julia always commits to a social theme and has had some amazing costumes over the years. This year, she will be taking over the role of Sponsorship sec. So far this year, she has bagged EUWHC some amazing sponsors including Aldi, Uber, and our new pub Dropkicks. Make sure you look out for some team drink freebies at socials as well! Julia will be working with lots of different people in the club to organise and barter down prices to get us some more amazing deals this year; be prepared for a year of amazing sponsors both on and off the pitch!

Tour Secretary: Harriet Williams

Our beautiful blue eyed bombshell Haz Williams previously painted the town green and red organising our fabulous hockey socials last year has now turned the corner to bigger and better things. She has spread her wings and taken socials international, bringing all of her fantastic chat with her. Haz has been a hockey badger since day one and has only missed one social in her whole life (stupid covid) so she has all of the skills necessary to take the club worldwide. She is one of the most approachable and kind hearted people I know and will organise the tour that will end all tours. Watch this space, grab your pals and pack a bag because this tour is one that will go down in the EUHC history books.

Introducing our Intramural and Alumni Sec for this year: Emily Hill! Emily is a fourth year history student and a key part of the high scoring Women’s 8s team, scoring hattricks on the regular, helping to secure both promotion for the 8s in their Saturday league and a BUCS cup win. Emily’s love for hocky isn’t confined to just her own team, however, as, as Intramural Sec, she’s responsible for getting members across the club down on a Friday night for social hockey against other university intramural teams at Peffs followed by pints at Dropkicks. Extremely bubbly and social, there’s no one more suited to the job, proven by the high turnout each week despite the cold Edinburgh weather and ever-looming deadlines. As Alumni Sec, Emily is also responsible for establishing long-lasting connections with our members that have graduated and is in the process of organising an Alumni weekend at the end of Semester Two, giving our graduates a chance to relive their glory days and pretend they never made the mistake of leaving uni. A true gem in the EUWHC committee, the club is super lucky to have her as our Friday night social hockey has never been in safer hands.
