Code of Conduct

1. Players should recognise and appreciate efforts made by coaches, parents, match officials and administrators in providing the opportunity for you to play the game and enjoy the sporting environment.


2. Players are to be respectful to umpires, opponents and teammates. Derogatory comments will NOT be tolerated.


3. You are expected to attend every training session – do not expect to be selected for matches if you do not attend training without a valid excuse.


4. Every player must purchase a gym membership for the academic year. This includes facilities fees for pitch time and training. Failure to do so will result in either a fine or not being allowed to play for the club.


5. Pitch, dugouts, stands and changing rooms are to be clear and respectable after use.


6. Correct attire must be worn where appropriate – full Player Layer kit must always be worn for matches.


7. In the event of attendance to a craft night but failure to get badged, the individual will be liable to payment of the cost of the course to the club.


8. If the club has helped you gain an umpiring or coaching qualification, you are expected to give back to the club by acting for us in a coaching or umpiring capacity.


9. All members must also remain in line with the Edinburgh University Sports Union Code of Conduct and Alcohol Policy at all times.


10.It should be remembered that groups of EUWHC must at all times act to uphold the reputation of the club, Sports Union and University whether on campus or an alternative venue.


11. All members must adherence to Codes of Conduct set out by Scottish Hockey and our other Governing bodies.
